It was an opportunity to discover new historic and technical data about the few remains of the original ornamentation and of the many replications made in the early 20th century: the original designs, the restoration grafts, the substitutions, the finishes... The article presents a detailed description of the preliminary studies and the work performed on these sculptural pieces. |
