Descripción
Sumario:[EN]: We have reviewed museum collections and the literature, and also contribute data on new populations of Dociostaurus crassiusculus in the Iberian Peninsula. The species has been classed as rare in Spain and as an endangered species sensitive to habitat disturbance in the Madrid adminstrative region. We found highly localised, but large populations of the species subject to high fluctuations in habitats with gypsophilous and halophilous vegetation, in particular in nature reserves with hypersaline lagoons of the Castilla-La Mancha admnistrative region and surrounding areas. We suggest the need of protection and inclusion of this species in the regional red list because the area is almost certainly the main Iberian reservoir of the species.
