| Sumario: | Journalist and writer, Georgia Makhlouf is originally from Lebanon where she was born in 1955. She is the author of two novels, a short story, a novella and an essay. The compared analysis between her first publication Éclats de mémoire. Beyrouth. Fragments d'enfance (2005) and her first novel Les Absents (2014) aims at showing how the network of references to the natural or urban landscape exceeds the mere narrative function of spatial frame, turning them into elements of a poetics of return, into landscapes of personal cartography. The act of writing allows the return to a possible imaginary in which happy memories and necessary confessions come together, but also the expression of the experience of displacement and its projection in literary landscapes. |
