| Sumario: | The Geology around the Esperanza Station (Argentina) at the southern coast of Hope Bay/Bahía Esperanza (63°23´S, 57°00´O) was maped during the 2004 and 2005 austral summer. Fifteen new geological units were identified and mapped within: Hope Bay Formation (Trinity Peninsula Group), Mount Flora Formation (Botany Bay Group) and Kenney Glacier Formation (Antarctic Peninsula Volcanic Group). Six diferent types of surfacial deposits were also distinguised. Important geoscientific contributions of the survey are, among others, the identification of normal faults that cut the upper groups (Botany Bay and Antarctic Peninsula Groups), and the discovery of new fossiliferous exposures of Mount Flora Formation, located 1.5 km north-eastward the Mount Flora, on the downthrown blocks of the normal faults |
