Sumario:The fi rst record of Globicornis (Elania) depressa (Mulsant & Rey, 1868) (Coleoptera, Dermestidae, Megatominae) is given for the Iberian Peninsula. The studied specimen (a female) was found in a wooded area of Collserola mountain-chain (province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain). This dermestid beetle was known until now from a few localities of France, and from the Majorca Island. The species is briefl y described, and the features that separate it from other Iberian representatives of the genus Globicornis Latreille in Cuvier, 1829 are highlighted. The scarce data on its biology and ecology are compiled, being considered as a saproxylic insect. The list of species of Globicornis occurring in the Iberian Peninsula is updated. Key words: Dermestidae, Globicornis, faunistic, chorology, Barcelona province, Collserola mountain-chain, forest habitat.
