Descripción
Sumario:Manuscript 35 of the Biblioteca del Cabildo de la Catedral of El Burgo de Osma offers one of very few examples of the reception of rabbinic literature in medieval Catalan: a fragment titled "De sacrefiçis." Although this text was discovered and published more than sixty years ago, its origin and significance have not been determined until now. Through close textual comparison, the article places this enigmatic Catalan fragment in the context of the infamous Christian-Jewish Disputation of Tortosa of the years 1412-1414. More specifically, it proves that "De sacrefiçis" renders parts of the anti-Jewish Tratado by Jerónimo of Santa Fe, the driving force behind the Tortosa proceedings.
