Sumario:The authors would like, first, to thank the interest in our work, particularly our paper by Pinto et al. (2024). The problem of pharmaceutical residues in the aquatic environment and its impact on biota is a topic that should bring together the scientific community in the search for solutions. Regarding our paper, Pinto et al. (2024), the effects of fluoxetine on endpoints at different levels of biological organization were assessed on adult zebrafish under controlled conditions, with no bias on the analysis of the obtained data. Data showed impact on different endpoints, emphasizing the need for further studies. However, under the tested conditions, for the assessed behavioral endpoints, no statistically relevant effects were found unlike what was observed in earlier life stages, under the same conditions (Correia et al., 2022, 2023, Bellot et al., 2021).
