Descrição
Resumo:[EN] We evaluate aquifer connectivity and lake dynamics using the chemical and isotopic signatures of the waters from lakes, springs, wells, and the Guadazaón River from the Cañada del Hoyo Lake Complex (Cuenca) . The lakes are associated with Cretaceous aqui-fers that are hydrogeologically disconnected from Jurassic and Ce-nozoic materials. Besides, differences in the chemical and isotopic composition of spring waters suggest that the recharge of the Ju-rassic aquifer does not affect the Cañada del Hoyo Lakes. Evapora-tion and calcite precipitation are key processes in the hydrochemi-cal evolution of the lakes. Isotopic values from the springs indicate a rapid recharge without significant evaporation processes. Springs with high nitrate concentrations are associated with minor aquifers influenced by local agricultural activity. This study confirms the main recharge of the Cañada del Hoyo Lake Complex are the Cretaceous aquifers and that the hydrological differences among the lakes de-pend on localized aquifers individualized by marly lithologies.
