Sumario:The principal obstacle of historical research on the oppidum and the Roman city of Consabura, is documentation very short (literary, epigraphic, archaeological and documentary). However, the geostrategic situation of this core (of order of the passages between the rivers Tajo and Guadiana) was decisive probably and determine with its historical evolution. Only thus one would understand some data, certainly astonishing, present in the archaeological and epigraphic documentation of Consabura. Therefore, to deepen it some elements obliges us to reflect already traditional postulates (the ordering and occupation of the territory) and to analyze with certain prudence of others (the process of municipality); although, this work does not want to be that an advance.
