The aim is to give a preliminary view of the differences in techniques, methods, treatment and quality of water supply. Will analyse each of the phases separately to thus be able to assess the progress achieved over time. Analysis of the techniques employed in Roman times has been extracted from the reading and comprehension of texts written by professionals who have done work referred to the subject matter that we try to, with regard to the analysis of supply today apart from the knowledge acquired through consultations to texts professional of the sector, expressing in this document practical professional knowledge of authors over years of work in the sector of distribution and supply of water to populations. Contribution on the ground as shown in graphic and written information of the Peña Cortada aqueduct.[ES] El planteamiento de éste trabajo de investigación es el análisis y la comparativa del sistema de abastecimiento de agua potable desde los tiempos de los romanos a nuestros días, analizando tres fases fundamentales: la captación, transporte o canalización y distribución en las poblaciones. El objetivo es dar una visión preliminar de las diferencias en cuanto a técnicas, métodos, tratamientos y calidad de suministro de agua. Se analizarán cada una de las fases por separado para de esta manera poder valorar el avance alcanzado a lo largo del tiempo. El análisis de las técnicas empleadas en tiempos de los romanos ha sido extraído de la lectura y comprensión de textos escritos por profesionales que han realizado trabajos referidos a la temática que tratamos, respecto al análisis del abastecimiento de hoy en día aparte de los conocimientos adquiridos por las consultas a textos profesionales del sector, expresando en este documento los conocimientos prácticos profesionales de los autores a lo largo de años de trabajo en el sector de distribución y suministro de agua a poblaciones.
