| Sumario: | [EN] The present paper gives an account of the zooplankton from Newfoundland waters. We describe the distribution of zooplankton communities and present information concerning the plankton indicator species, together with some date on the distribution of fish eggs and larvae. Since there was no standard collecting method for study of "indicators" there can be no degree of quantitative comparison of these results with others cruises in this and different areas, but in any case, no more than broad comparison can be made, since stations were worked both in daylight and darkness during the cruise. The zooplankton communities found in this survey, may be taken as very similar ones, but some slight differences in the plankton distribution are observed. More detailed would be made in future cruises over Newfoundland Banks for the purpose of stablishing a clearer acconut of facts, pecause this was only a preliminary survey. |
