| Sumario: | The topic of the thesis, Architecture of the reality, appears with a double objective: 1. A chronicle of the activities by the group of architects Pilar Prim, between 1997 and 2004, a period that belongs to the change of century, so among two celebrations that took place in Barcelona: the congress of the UIA and the Forum of the cultures. This group was integrated by a group of architects of the same generation of author thesis autor¿s , who liked to think about architecture, and especially on the city of Barcelona. This was the cultural space that all the members¿s group were sharing . 2. To go into some reflections of architecture, from both the ideas of the proper group, and also from the practical experience of the author. Both items complement each other: The history of the group helps to illustrate a certain way of understanding the architecture, and in turn, the critical writings can help to complement the point of view of the group. The landscape of the thesis is, so, that of the current architecture and that of the city of Barcelona. The volume 1 , " Pilar Prim's complete Work " is a commented history of the group. But also it¿s a critique of some of the principal episodes that led the daily life of Barcelona during that period. The critical texts that accompany the central story of the thesis, come, first, from the internal discussions of the group. The majority of them were turning about today's news, especially from the section of La Vanguardia newspaper " To live in Barcelona " , and had a leif motiv generically: it was necessary to contaminate with life the present architecture to escape of the formalist blind alley in which this one had placed. Some of these discussions still remain gathered in " Numbers of the Pilar Prim complete work ", a set of sheets that were published in an irregular and dispersed way. Also there are compiled other debates that though they did not make concrete in the shape of publication were present in many of the internal discussions of the group. They are written mixing some and others in order to respect the chronology in which they were appearing, and to reproduce the particular incident of the group. The volume 2 " Numbers of Pilar Prim's Complete Work " is a collection facsimile of 18 published numbers, arranged chronologically and preserving the original format. The volume 3 "Photorama" continues the critical look of the Volume 1 but using images instead of words. It is a meaningful and numerous selection of photography¿s arranged thematically, accompanied of short writings that show a tendentious vision of the reality, that of the present thesis.This volume is ordained from seven recommendations or paragraphs that, therefore, might be considered to be the conclusions of the thesis: To question the new; to neglect the form; to care the function; to meet again with the genuineness; to allow the mystery; to contaminate with life; to respect the reality The volume 4 " Barcelonian newspaper library " is a documentary annex that gathers cuts of press and documentation by the group that complements the information of the thesis. |
