Descripción
Sumario:The cultural heritage of Escornalbou was recovered on the basis of the exlibris and olim; 570 titles and 902 volumes have been identified, which could signify half of the library at its peak, with the Missions Seminary. Previous owners have given us some new pointers as to the formation, stratigraphy of the collections and the reader communities, comprised mainly of monks and the clergy. Devout pedagogy was the focal point of monks' attention, and in the 18th Century the library became an arsenal of Catholic books to act as the convent's triple cornerstone: the training of novices, the preparation of preaching and the production of religious texts.
