Sumario:The article addresses the management of postindustrial landscapes in Spain within the context of the ecological transition, analyzing the impact of decarbonization and environmental restoration actions on industrial heritage. The methodology employed combines sampling and mapping of 140 representative cases of interventions in industrial sites over the past 25 years, along with a review of academic literature, news archives, grey literature, and administrative documentation. The results reveal a widespread trend towards the dismantling of infrastructures, prioritizing economic and environmental criteria over the conservation of industrial vestiges. Although at least 70 cases generated cultural controversies within the local community, only a limited number resulted in actions for the conservation or protection of representative components of the post-industrial landscape. The study identifies a lack of administrative coordination and an absence of integrated identification and protection programs in activities linked to the ecological transition, which contributes to the disappearance of significant industrial testimonies. The study concludes that, although the Spanish regulatory framework provides sufficient tools for conservation, the effective integration of industrial heritage in the regeneration actions of deindustrialized spaces promoted by the ecological transition remains limited.
