Sumario:This dataset compiles the information collected during the first phase of the Delphi process carried out within the framework of the REFORADAPT project, with the support of Fundación Biodiversidad of the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through its grant programme for projects contributing to the implementation of the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan 2021–2030. In this stage, more than 60 experts in forest restoration and adaptation in Spain participated through an online questionnaire, representing academia, public administration, the private sector, and non-governmental organisations. The process aimed to gather and analyse information structured around three thematic blocks. The first focused on assessing the degree of consensus regarding definitions of forest restoration and forest adaptation to climate change, based on a set of proposed statements. The second addressed the identification and prioritisation of the main challenges, opportunities, and needs related to forest restoration and adaptation to climate change in the Spanish context. The third dealt with the evaluation of the relevance of different indicators for measuring the success of forest restoration projects, including both those proposed in the EU Nature Restoration Law and others drawn from scientific literature. The dataset includes anonymised responses from participants, along with descriptive variables that allow for the analysis of the diversity of profiles and opinions within the expert group. It contains information on the topics evaluated and the ratings assigned in each thematic block. The dataset is provided in four CSV files: three corresponding to the thematic blocks (concepts, challenges, and indicators), and a fourth containing information on the participants’ profiles. In these files, each row represents a participant and each column corresponds to an associated variable. A README file is also included, providing detailed descriptions of the variables and associated metadata.
