Sumario:This doctoral thesis is orientated towards the study of standing in collective actions, which are a procedural remedy for the damages caused to legally-protected and collective interests. Beginning with the nature, types, characteristics and methods of redress for interests of this kind, the present research work focuses on the analysis of the subjects entitled to bring a collective action in the Spanish legal framework, together with a comparative study of the Italian, American and Brazilian systems, so as to establish a model of standing to bring a collective action in Spain, both adequate and efficiently. In that sense, directly linked aspects such as funding, the certification or the different systems of collective actions are treated, without neglecting the unavoidable economic perspective.
