Descripción
Sumario:Antonio Beccadelli (called il Panormita) was the author of the De dictis et factis Alfonsi regis, a particularly important work for the cultural renewal centered on Alfonso the Magnanimous's court in Naples. The large number of manuscripts, printed editions, and early translations of the De dictis attests to its widespread dissemination. This article examines two Italian translations of the De dictis from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries: New Haven, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, Beinecke ms. 588, and Naples, Biblioteca Nazionale "Vittorio Emanuele III", ms. V. F. 36.
