| Sumario: | In recent years, the media have influenced the so-called “memoria histórica” in Spain, proposing stories that represent the past, often from pedagogical and political positions, or from critical revisions. In 2009, Antena 3 TV programmed two documentaries, Franco: Operación Caídos and El Valle de los Caídos: la obsesión de Franco. This study analyzes these programs, from the thesis that constituted a practice of media memory media. The article explores several issues: the forms of evocation, proximity and “presentism” that offered these documentaries; their symbolic characterizations, and, finally, the possible connections between these TV discourses and other strategies of public memory. |
