It is focused on the local frame of Salamanca, but not in an isolated way, because some of them were especially linked to the national political life, and some maintained close contacs with other European intellectuals of the moment. It is, therefore, necessary to claim -on one hand- for the figure and positions of the liberals from Salamanca of 1820, who lived, most of them, in the city of Salamanca and were bound in a peculiar way to its University, where they developed their political and educational career; and on the other hand, to support the role it played in the transition from the Ancien Régime to the New Régime. The University became a centre creator and divulger of ideas, in which the new tendencies were put into practice inside and ideological framework mostly against the scientific innovations. It was in this context reformer in which the later liberals, still shy in Cádiz, but revolutionaries in 1820, were forged. From this starting point, the best way to face the topic is through the study of the deputies from Salamanca during the "Liberal Triennium", because professionally most of them were linked to the University (and all had a contact with it any time).[ES] El presente estudio pretende un acercamiento a alguno de los protagonistas que posibilitaron el decisivo paso adelante dado al proceso revolucionario burgués durante el "Trienio Liberal". Se centra en el marco local salmantino, aunque no de manera aislada, pues varios estuvieron especialmente vinculados a la vida política nacional, y alguno mantuvo estrechos contactos con otros intelectuales europeos del momento. Se trata, pues, de reivindicar -por un lado- la figura y posiciones de los liberales salmantinos de 1820, afincados, en su mayor parte, en la ciudad de Salamanca y ligados de manera particular a su Universidad, donde desarrollaron su carrera política y docente; pero también, de apoyar el papel jugado por ésta en el tránsito del Antiguo al Nuevo Régimen. La Universidad se convirtió en centro creador y difusor en el campo de las ideas, en el que se pusieron en práctica las nuevas corrientes dentro de un marco ideológico mayoritariamente adverso a las innovaciones científicas. Fue en este contexto reformador en el que se forjaron los posteriores liberales, tímidos aún en Cádiz, pero revolucionarios en 1820.
