Sumario:Summary: Spain, from immigrant to host (1975-2005) The question of immigration into Spain is of contemporary importance. Every day one opens the newspaper to find news items related in one way or another to the subject, even though the country's foreign population is not so large as to merit such attention. It is trae that the situation seems to have disconcerted the country in its new role as host, when until recently it had been a source of emigration. This study aims to illustrate the situation in figures, an approch which we believe is essential for the understanding of a society facing new challenges.
