Descripción
Sumario:The following qualitative study uses a mixed-methods approach to highlight three main mechanisms and their corresponding intervention techniques through which Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) could help understand how mind, body, and emotion interact in individual pain experiences, ultimately aiming toward improved pain management and well-being. These three mechanisms-identifying pain triggers, developing coping mechanisms for chronic pain, and creating vehicles for expression-will be supported with a literature review on relevant themes related to chronic pain and DMT as well as through the analysis of case studies of three patients suffering from chronic pain that participated in DMT sessions conducted by the researcher.
