Description
Summary:Sant Pere de Vilamajor is an extensive municipal area of great natural and historical value, embedded in the history of Catalonia. The Torre Roja is an almost thousand-year-old Romanesque bell tower, of considerable architectural and monumental interest, which has undergone modifications throughout its life, and which had arrived well into the 21st century with serious maintenance problems. The pathologies have been resolved by the restoration works carried out during 2023-2024 by the Generalitat de Catalunya, with the aim of achieving a triple objective: guaranteeing the conservation of the monument, providing it with security measures and renovating -its obsolete facilities so that the public can visit the monument. Once the works are finished, guided tours and activities to disseminate and interpret the fortified core of La Força and the Rorra Roja will be organized from the La Mongia center in Vilamajor.
