Sumario:The study was carried out in a greenhouse located in the facilities of the ETSIA (Universidad de Seville) in two years, 2021 and 2025. The main objective was to investigate the suitability of three insectary plants to house and promote the populations of the predator Orius laevigatus. A second objective was to know the movement of this predator from the insectary plants to ornamental plants located in the same greenhouse. The data include different taxons of arthropods observed during the study, both in insectary and ornamental plants. Three file datasets and one file with tables have been created: - Dataset of insectary plants. It has the data of sampling in the three insectary plants in the two years. Methodology consisted in tapping three samplings units of the insectary plants on a white pan and counting the arthropods, in each sampling date. - Dataset of ornamental plants. It has the data of sampling in the ornamental plants in the two years. Methodology in 2021 consisted in selecting six flowers of the ornamental plant carnation on each sampling date and dissecting them in the laboratory, counting the arthropods found; in 2025 consisted in tapping six samplings units of the different ornamental plants on a white pan and counting the arthropods, in each sampling date. It also has two columns with a damage index observed in each sampling date, with a scale varying between 0 (no damage) and 4 (more than 50% of petals surface damaged), and a proportion of petal surface damaged. For data of 2021 there is a flower opening code: 1= closed, 2= semiopen, 3=totally open. - Dataset of yellow sticky traps. It has the data of sampling with sticky traps in the two years. Methodoly consisted in putting four traps in the greenhouse, and collecting them after a week. Determination of arthropods were done in the laboratory. - Tables of multiplicative factors. It has the multiplicative factors needed to calculate the absolute population of arthropods in the insectary plants and ornamental plants in 2025. These factors are the number of sampling units found in the insectary plants and ornamental plants in each sampling date.
