Resumo:[EN] Lately there has been a huge change in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry, due to the introduction of new technologies like Building Information Modeling and techniques like Lean Construction or life cicle structure optimization. In this field we plan to investigate the derivated advantages of combining these new trends and its viabil i ty, also we create a new aplication able to optimize reinforced concrete structures that is completely integrated inside a BIM environment. This research it i s done by utilizing one BIM’s Aplication Programming Interface where an isosthatic beam has been mold and using a multicriteria genetic algorithm with four different optimizatio n criteria – economic cost, CO2 emissions, energetic cost and number of reinforcing bars - we are able to get the optimum design. This genetic algorithm has been a djusted using the design of experiments technique . The resulting aplication allowed the inclusion of the structure optimization into a BIM environment completely, being able to have in mind the sustaina b le con struction criteria from the beg i n ning of the de sign stage
