| Sumario: | The deuteration of organic compounds has contributed to several fields of scientific knowledge, such as analytical, medicinal, organic chemistry, and polymer science. In this manuscript the concepts of kinetic isotopic effects, synthesis of deuterated compounds, and principal applications of deuteration are summarized to obtain a brief article that serves to teach multidisciplinary sciences to undergraduate chemists. |
