Descripción
Sumario:J. S. Bach¿s Well-Tempered Clavier is the main model to follow in fugue form composition and teaching inside the western academic music. The influence of this masterpiece over time appears in many important composer¿s work, who each in their own style have tried to emulate it, creating a huge corpus which could constitute the Well-Tempered Clavier¿s legacy. Lot of investigation has been done on the consequences generated by the publication of this collection, but what happened before? Are there previous works with the same formal plan? Were there antecedents, or models even, in the Well-Tempered Clavier¿s composition process? A possible answer to these questions is in the work Ariadne Musica composed by Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer and published in 1702, which presents a collection of 20 preludes and fugues in different keys, whose pedagogics objectives and some melodic materials have strong similarities with J. S. Bach¿s collection ones. Through the bibliographic research, the musical analysis of this work, and the search for common materials and other links whit the Well-Tempered Clavier, will be created the base for the after comparative analysis between some of their fugues, which will try to prove the title sentence.
