Descripción
Sumario:[EN] In the National Library of Spain is preserved the legacy of the africanist military officer and historian Tomás García Figueras (1892-1981), which includes thousands of books, pamphlets, drawings, prints, photographs, newspapers, personal documents and other manuscript and typed documents. Among the documents there is a collection of more than one hundred ballads (each represented by several versions), collected in the Sephardic communities of de Larache, Arcila, Alcazarquivir and Tetuan by García Figueras and his collaborators during the period of the Spanish Protectorate in Morocco. This article is a first overview of this collection, until now unknown and unpublished.
