Descripción
Sumario:[EN] This text presents the work of Pino Casarini in the Arena of Verona. His work, over forty years of activity, leads to numerous achievements remaining in its essence linked to a single concept of installation defined as amphitheater scenery. It is a vision that accepts and exalts the formal qualities of the monument that hosts the lyrical shows, surpassing the previous proposals linked to a type of traditional installation that intended to modify the available stage space. Over time, Casarini s scenography evolves from an understanding of both the problems of operatic representation and the particularities of the arenian scene. The article identifies the architectural operations of the painter s various projects and presents, also considering his own theoretical production, the connections with a contemporary cultural context marked by artistic avant-garde and theatrical revolution.
