Sumario:The first published Jurassic Ammonites from Spain in the Aparato para la Historia Natural Española of José Torrubia (1754) is described here with plates depicting some Ammonite fossils atributed by Torrubia to «cornu ammonis». An evaluation of the knowledge of Torrubia about the contemporaneus palaeontological literature and the controversies about the pétrifications is made.
