Descripción
Sumario:Spanish catch and effort information used in this Report is based on the logbook data contributed by the Spanish Administration. The logbooks information for 2016 was available haul by haul. In previous years was used in this report the NAFO Observers effort information because the logbook effort information was grouped by day and it was difficult to know the distribution of effort by depth or fishery. Table 1 presents the Spanish catches by species and Division in 2016. In 2016 total effort of the Spanish fleet in NAFO Regulatory Area was 1,073 days. In 2016, IEO scientific observers were on board 326 fishing days that it means 29 % of the Spanish total effort. All length, age and biological information presented in this paper is based on sampling carried out by IEO scientific observers: 658 samples were taken in 2016, with 68,721 individuals of different species examined.
