Valiéndonos de la metodología y las herramientas informáticas desarrolladas a tal efecto en el ámbito de la lingüística forense, efectuamos un exhaustivo análisis cuantitativo de la llamativa similitud que detectamos en las ediciones estudiadas, con especial mención de los resultados que revelan un grado de coincidencia entre los textos traducidos igual o superior al 95%, que nos permite distinguir las ediciones espurias de aquellas otras de las que estas flagrantemente se nutren, y abogar, en consecuencia, por la necesidad de proceder a una reconsideración de la historia de las traducciones de la obra de Darwin en España.This article examines the "official history" of the Spanish retranslations of The Descent of Man (1871), by Charles Darwin, published in Spain between 1872 and 1998, and of their translators and publishers, as accepted to date in the History of Translation and Science.
