| Sumario: | [EN] Throughout his life, the architect Alejandro de la Sota showed great interest in drawing. This interest goes beyond mere professional purposes, as a necessary means of communication between the design and construction. Thus, in quite a number of texts, he expresses the importance of drawing as the manifestation of a mental process, bringing a public dimension to that intense and, at times, unconscious inner glance wherein lies the germ of the project. To look at his drawings, and compare them with the records of some of his projects, reveals his intellectual and creative coherence, the connection between ideas and forms. The abstraction of his drawings, so reminiscent of the caricatures he also drew, is in keeping with the architectural character he would project from the second half of the 1950s until the end of his life. |
