| Sumario: | [EN] This article utilises the concept of moral panics developed by the British Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies -the so-called Birmingham School- to study the fears provoked by the configuration of youth as a social group in Spain. It analyses the worries about the development of youth mobilization and the perceived moral degradation of young people. These perceptions were highly related to the socio-economic and political modernisation and the growth of modern leisure activities. The article shows that these social anxieties were shared by several social and political groups in interwar Europe |
