Sumario:Orthotrichum consimile Mitt., earlier regarded as extinct in Europe, is recorded from two new localities: Fuente Urona, Navarra, Spain, and Brilon, Westphalia, Germany. Apart from being smaller, the plants agree well with North American populations. The European specimens are illustrated and the distribution is mapped. Orthotrichum pulchellum Brunt. is excluded from the Spanish moss flora.
