Such <i>depravatio Scripturae</i>, mentioned in his commentary on Jeremiah, consists in making a «partisan» use of the words of the Scripture, inventing their meaning, and reducing it to a single dimension, causing thereby an interpretive breach. While treating in his works the <i>intellectus falsus</i> or incorrect interpretations of some Scriptural passages, Aquinas gives, for a fruitful reading of the Bible, an indication connected with the interpreter’s moral qualifications and openness to the gift of understanding, a gift which especially influences the biblical exegesis.Los comentarios bíblicos del Aquinate, que son un reflejo de su actividad docente, proponen la interpretación de los textos de la Sagrada Escritura según la teoría de los sentidos bíblicos. No obstante, santo Tomás advierte también los posibles errores hermenéuticos que llevan a una alteración del sentido. Tal <i>depravatio Scripturae</i>, a la que se refiere en su comentario a Jeremías, consiste en hacer un uso «particular» de la palabra revelada, inventar el sentido y reducirlo a una sola dimensión, provocando una ruptura del horizonte interpretativo. Al tratar en sus obras del <i>falsus intellectus</i> o interpretaciones incorrectas de algunos pasajes de la Escritura, el Aquinate da indicaciones para una lectura fecunda que tiene que ver con las cualidades morales del intérprete y su apertura al don de entendimiento, que es el que afecta particularmente a la exégesis bíblica.Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de NavarraDadun.
