Sumario:The evaluation of psychological and educational tests, along with the dissemination of test review reports, aims to enhance the use of tests and professional practice. Several protocols and models for test reviews exist internationally, designed to assess the quality of commercial tests. However, the evaluation of non-commercialized tests remains underexplored. This study suggests an advancement in test evaluations by employing systematic reviews and meta-analyses, focusing on tests published in scientific journals and other channels. We present an approach that combines test review protocols, such as the Spanish model, with systematic review meta-analyses to evaluate a non-commercial test, such as the Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale. We explore the advantages of this integrated approach and propose modifications to the test review protocol to accommodate the unique characteristics of non-commercial tests. Additionally, the paper discusses various issues and differences between international and national reviews, underscoring the importance of local norms from the perspective of practitioners.
