Sumario:The legal literature compiled by the military orders of Calatrava and Santiago contains relevant information to study many aspects related to their organization, among them some that explain their link with the war. This work seeks to make a comparative study of that textual corpus formed by rules, statutes, definiciones, capitular acts and establecimientos of the two main Hispanic orders, to better know the war charism that these institutions had. In addition, our analysis can also trace parallels or divergences between one and the other, besides helping us to measure the importance that the war activity had for them.
