Sumario:[EN] Luis Díaz Viana is currently a lecturer at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and, since 2013, a researcher at the Institute of European Studies of the University of Valladolid. He has taught at the University of Valladolid and the University of Salamanca, as well as at the University of Berkeley, the University of Texas, the University of California and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Throughout his extensive career, he has published works of various kinds, and has also been involved in literary creation. His excellent training and his academic and research career make him one of the leading figures in social anthropology. In this interview, Luis Díaz Viana offers us his reflections on folklore, culture, ethnography and literature, with a current vision that draws on the past as a source of reference
