The premoult stages in this species is characterized by a loss of both elements, their decreases from D0 to ecdysis. Concentration of Ca and Mg rapidly increases after the moult and reaches a maximum level which is achieved. Possible way of calcification from exogenus calcium (water or food) and endogenous calcium stored before moulting (gastrolith or hepatopancreas) have been discussed. The high concentration of magnesium in the haemolimph, during the postmoult period, may be due to the water absortion in the ecdysis process of A1 and A2 stages.
