| Resumo: | [eng] The thesis contains three essays that are linked to Development Economics. The first essay is an evaluation of the impact on the Telecommunications sector of the Free Trade Agreements that the United States signed with Latin American countries during the 2000s. It is obtained that these agreements decreased the prices of mobile telephone services and did not discourage the investment in telecommunications. The second essay is about fiber optic broadband coverage in Peru and its impact on the Credit market. It is obtained that the impacts of the arrival of broadband are transferred to the credit market between years 4 and 5 after the shock occurred. The probability of companies entering the credit market increases and the probability of exit decreases. Likewise, total credits and the number of relationships between companies and banks increase. There is also a reduction effect in the interest rate, whose transmission channel is demand. The third article is linked to the staggered arrival of broadband coverage in Peru and its impact on the behavior of exporting companies. It is obtained that the arrival of broadband generates a positive impact on the amount of exports. Likewise, the number of relationships with foreign markets increases and concentration in terms of export markets is reduced. |
