It is studied how the figure of Christ as the Shepherd looking for the sheep appears once and again on different moments in El peregrino en su patria and Lope’s religious poetry. Lope’s religious lyric poetry maintains the ability of moving the reader either on Italian meter, abiding by the rigors of the poetic rhetoric, either in a more traditional meter with the freshness of the popular voice intertwined with the Medieval tradition of the serranilla and the baroque effects of the language of concepts. |
