Autotaxin (ATX) is a plasma enzyme that leads to the formation of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), which is involved in different functions involved in migraine, such as vascular tone control, inflammation, neuronal excitation, endothelial dysfunction, and neuropathic pain, among others.
