Sumario:Artistic forms seem to be closely related to magical thinking, because of their use of symbols and representations, the creation of talismanic objects and the articulation of ritual practices. This link has fluctuated throughout history. There were periods in which they were intricately related, whereas in other times the threads almost released themselves. However, it seems that they never managed to separate completely. That is because of the link, present since the origins of art. For this investigation, there will be a very broad historical framework, from that initial focus up to the present. That is because the goal is to articulate certain aesthetic ideas, a theory that helps us understand better the foundations of art. Among all art forms, schools, artists and tendencies, the focus will be in those closer to the visionary. That is because that kind of link is more visibly present in those creators or currents.
