| Summary: | [EN] During the 1960s and 1970s, the Taller de Arquitectura team, a multidisciplinary group created by Ricardo Bofill, explored what the housing of the future should be like. From the commission of the project for the Barrio Gaudí (1968) to the Walden 7 project (1978), an evolution occurred in how the team addressed the issue of the housing cell, seeking a solution that responded to the lifestyles of the new society. The Taller concerned itself with housing that grows according to the number of inhabitants, avoiding the compartmentalization of homes in search of greater living space, or ensuring a personal space where the individual can thrive. This article aims to analyze the evolution of Taller de Arquitectura s proposals to identify the design mechanisms that resulted in the Walden housing, as well as to assess whether their proposal is valid for contemporary housing through a literature review and graphic analysis of the projects. |
