Sumario:Among the important and diversified literary and cultural flow between Italy and the Crown of Aragon in the 16th century, this article focuses on two specific areas: Italian connections with the new spirituality of the first half of the century (the extraordinary Italian diffusion of the Desitjós novel and the translation into Catalan of two principal works of the religiousness of the period) and the Hispanic reception of two literary phenomena of magnitude: the romanzi of Boiardo and Ariosto (and the prose of Bembo) in Valencia, and the literature about Lepanto in Catalonia. The five texts selected are a sample of the connection of cultural phenomena of literary modernity that develop in parallel in both territories
