Description
Summary:In this paper we present a method to separate anomalies corresponding to bodies at different depths, that is, a method to distinguish between regional and residual anomalies. This method is based on spectral analysis of gravity and magnetic anomaly maps. This analysis provides the mean depths at which the V. / - bodies that cause the observed anomaly are found. By means of these depth values and the frequency intervals obtained from the spectral analysis, Wiener type filters can be designed to elaborate anomaly maps in which only the effect of the bodies located at the calculated depths, regional and residual structures, is shown. This method has been used in a interesting zone of the southern Iberian Massif, in which an important gravity anomaly can be observed. The regional and residual maps obtained can be used to model the causative structures of these anomalies in another step of the research
