Rasch analyses indicated an appropriate scale functioning, item difficulty distribution, and minimal gender-related bias. Criterion validity was shown by correlations with academic satisfaction, emotions, and student burnout (p < .001). Therefore, The UWES-3S is a brief, reliable, and valid measure of online student engagement with theoretical and practical relevance.Con el fin de abordar la falta de herramientas breves y validadas para evaluar el engagement académico en las universidades en línea, el presente estudio examinó las propiedades psicométricas del UWES-3S en una muestra de 394 estudiantes en línea (72,8 % mujeres). Los resultados demostraron una estructura de un solo factor con buena consistencia interna (α = 0,81) y test-retest (0,80). Los análisis de Rasch indicaron un funcionamiento adecuado de la escala, una distribución adecuada de la dificultad de los ítems y un sesgo mínimo relacionado con el género. La validez de criterio se demostró mediante correlaciones con la satisfacción académica, las emociones y el agotamiento de los estudiantes (p < 0,001).
