Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The purpose of this work is to delve into the book The English in the West Indies (1888) by the British author James A. Froude about his journey to the Caribbean, the work of the Trinidadian Creole J.J. Thomas entitled Froudacity (1889), which was a response to the colonialist and racist views of the former, as well as the echoes in Spain of Froude’s thought on colonial power and the writing of history as evidenced by parliamentary debates at the end of the 19th century and by authors who inaugurated the so-called black legend in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century.
