In this article we examine the origin of this phenomenon through the analysis of the la Recopilación de algunos nombres arábigos by Diego de Guadix with a focus on the false Arabisms that are included in his work due to the employment of this classification principle. This analysis is accompanied by a wider study on Guadix ́s perception of the Arabic language and his own principles of etymological analysis.[EN] La tendencia a identificar como arabismos términos del castellano que empiezan por a/al- se puede encontrar en toda la literatura científica y de ficción de los Siglos de Oro. En este artículo examinamos el origen de este fenómeno y sus características a través del análisis de la Recopilación de algunos nombres arábigos de Diego de Guadix centrándonos en los falsos arabismos que genera la utilización de este principio clasificatorio. Dicho análisis está acompañado por un estudio más amplio sobre la visión de Guadix de la lengua árabe y sus principios de análisis etimológico.Los resultados presentados en este artículo forman parte del trabajo desarrollado por M.
