Other deviators are based on an optical phased-array or rely on magneto-optic or electro-optic properties of some materials. Usually, deviators without mechanics have a narrow angular range. We present a new electro-optical deflector device based on electro-optical properties of liquid crystal in which a graded-index is induced by the voltage applied in three electrodes. This system permits to scan a wide angular range without mechanical elements. First we will study the basics of the deflector; later on we will focus on the simulation of the deviator and the properties of the device.
